The Clodius butterfly has an upper wing surface cell with 3 dark gray bars
and has no red spots with a slight tinge of purple
Males patrol their habitat to find females, after mating they attach
a pouch to female to prevent her from achieving multiple matings. Then the
females lay single eggs scattered on the host plant. Clodius butterflies
spend their adult life searching for flower nectar in the open woods, alpine
areas, meadows and rock outcrops.
